Large Checked

At Explorer Luggage Australia, we know the importance of finding the right checked luggage. With a range of Large Checked options, such as the Luna-Air and the Arlo Pro, you’ll be sure to find the suitcase for your needs. Every single large suitcase in our range features recessed wheels, giving you more wiggle room when it comes to the linear measurement requirements. If you are on the lookout for luggage for international travel, our large checked suitcases will be perfect for you.

Large Checked Luna-Air vs Large Checked Arlo Pro

If you are tossing up between the Large Checked Luna-Air and the Large Checked Arlo Pro, we can help. The Arlo Pro is our more premium suitcase offering, designed for frequent flyers and those off on a big international trip. It’s slightly higher price reflects its quality enhancements, which include a German makrolon polycarbonate hard shell for durability and Japanese Hinomoto wheels. These wheels are extremely smooth and silent when rolling, labelled as one of the best wheels in the luggage industry. With YKK zippers and a lifetime warranty, the Arlo Pro is a reliable choice for those who are serious about travelling. Large checked cases do tend to undergo a little more wear and tear, due to being checked in on baggage carousels, so the Arlo Pro is designed to withstand this.

If you are less of a frequent traveller, the large checked Luna-Air will more than suffice. The Luna-Air sits at a slightly lower price point, making it a more attainable choice. It can be differentiated from the Arlo Pro due to its ABS plastic hardshell, which makes it less of a premium option in comparison. If you are more of a domestic traveller or travel rather infrequently, it might be better for you to opt for the Luna-Air. Although it might not have some of the bells and whistles of the Arlo Pro, it is still an excellent quality suitcase for those who want to travel in style.

What is the largest size luggage for check in?

If you are wondering what the largest size luggage is for check in at the airport, then we highly recommend doing some research on the airline you are flying with. Depending on the airline, there might be slight differences in the size of luggage they allow for check in. Generally, the maximum linear measurement is 158cm. The linear measurement is calculated by adding the height, width and length of the suitcase together. Both our Luna-Air and Arlo Pro luggage collections do not exceed this 158cm linear measurement, making them a great choice for your travels.

What size suitcase is best for 23kg?

Generally, airlines also have a weight limit on checked luggage.Usually, this weight limit is 23kg. A large checked suitcase will have plenty of space for up to 23kg of belongings. It is rather difficult to exceed this 23kg weight limit when packing in a normal fashion for a holiday. All our suitcases are designed for durability, allowing them to hold this weight with ease.

Is a 79cm suitcase big?

A 79cm suitcase is considered a larger checked suitcase (but not the largest out there!) A more standard size of large checked suitcase is around the 75cm mark. You can also get medium checked suitcases, which sit around the 65cm-69cm size bracket. For comparison, our large checked Luna-Air is 74cm, whilst our Arlo Pro is 75cm. Our medium checked Luna-Air is 63cm whist our Arlo Pro medium checked is 65cm. Please note, we measure our suitcases from the bottom of the wheels to the top of the grab handle.
